You are planning to travel with WestJet Airlines. It’s important to familiarize yourself with WestJet Airlines baggage policy to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey. We will walk you through all the essential details of WestJet’s baggage allowances, fees, restrictions, and exemptions. Whether you’re wondering about carry-on dimensions, checked baggage weight limits, or any special considerations, we’ve got you covered.

WestJet Carry-on Allowance

When it comes to carry-on baggage, WestJet allows passengers to bring both a personal item and a standard carry-on bag at no additional cost. The personal item should measure 16 x 13 x 6 inches (41 x 33 x 15 cm), while the standard carry-on bag should not exceed 21 x 15 x 9 inches (53 x 38 x 23 cm) in size. WestJet does not specify any weight restrictions for carry-on items; however, they should be light enough for passengers to lift into the overhead compartment without assistance.

If you’re traveling with an infant, you are permitted to bring a diaper bag and an approved restraint system car seat on board. Additionally, WestJet allows passengers to check strollers and car seats at the gate.

WestJet Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage is subject to specific weight and size restrictions on WestJet Airlines flights. The maximum weight for each checked bag is 50 pounds (23 kg), and the linear dimensions should not exceed 62 inches (157 cm).
