Are you planning a trip with Hawaiian Airlines and wondering about their baggage policy? Look no further! We will walk you through all the important details and fees associated with carrying both carry-on and checked baggage on Hawaiian Airlines flights. Whether you’re traveling to a neighbor island, North America, or even internationally, we’ve got you covered.

Hawaiian Airlines Carry-on Allowance

When it comes to carry-on baggage, Hawaiian Airlines allows each passenger to bring one personal item and one standard carry-on bag free of charge. The personal item should be small enough to fit under the seat in front of you, while the standard carry-on bag must not exceed the dimensions of 22 x 14 x 9 inches (55.9 x 35.5 x 22.9 cm) and should weigh no more than 25 pounds (11.34 kg).

Lap Infant Carry-on Policy

If you are traveling with an infant, they do not receive a carry-on allowance. However, you are permitted to bring a car seat onboard and use it if there is a free seat available. Strollers can be checked at the gate free of charge, but small, collapsible strollers may be carried on as long as they meet the standard size and weight restrictions of a carry-on bag.

Hawaiian Airlines Checked Baggage Allowance

For checked baggage, Hawaiian Airlines has specific weight and size restrictions. All checked bags must not exceed 50 pounds (23 kg) in weight and should have linear dimensions of no more than 62 inches (157 cm).

Here’s a breakdown of the baggage fees for different cabin classes and destinations:

HawaiianMiles Members

HawaiianMiles members enjoy reduced baggage fees when traveling between neighbor islands within the State of Hawaii. As a member benefit, you can receive $10 off the first checked bag fee and $15 off the second checked bag fee.

Pualani Platinum Members

Pualani Platinum members receive the first 3 bags complimentary. However, applicable overweight and excess baggage fees will still apply. If you have more than three bags, the next additional bag will be charged at the fourth bag fee.

Pualani Gold and Premier Club Members

Pualani Gold and Premier Club members receive the first 2 bags complimentary. Like Platinum members, they also have to pay applicable overweight and excess baggage fees for additional bags. The third bag will be charged at the third bag fee.

Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard

If you hold the Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard, you are eligible to earn 2 complimentary checked bags on Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights. Please note that this benefit does not apply to international flights.

Prepaying for Baggage

Hawaiian Airlines allows passengers to prepay for their baggage online during the check-in process, starting 24 hours before the flight departure. To do so, visit the Manage Flights section on the Hawaiian Airlines website and select Check-in Online.

Credit Cards That Reimburse Checked Bag Fees

If you’re looking for credit cards that offer reimbursement for checked bag fees on Hawaiian Airlines flights, consider the Hawaiian Airlines World Elite card.
