Fiji Airways Baggage PolicyCabin Baggage Allowance

As part of Fiji Airways ongoing commitment to passenger safety, the cabin baggage policy allowance has been amended to adhere to the Travel Ready Covid-19 safety program. It’s important to note that your personal item should now be included in the total number of pieces allowed, rather than in addition to it. Let’s take a closer look at the specific allowances:

Economy Class

In economy class, passengers are allowed a maximum of 1 piece of cabin baggage weighing up to 7 kg (15 lbs). The total dimensions of the bag, including handles and wheels, should not exceed 118cm (46in). Additionally, passengers are permitted to carry one small personal item, such as a laptop or purse.

Business Class

Passengers traveling in business class enjoy a more generous cabin baggage allowance. They are allowed a maximum of 2 pieces of cabin baggage, each weighing up to 7 kg (15 lbs), or 1 piece weighing up to 14 kg (30 lbs). The total dimensions of each bag, including handles and wheels, should not exceed 126cm (50in). Similar to economy class, passengers are also permitted to carry a small personal item.

Infant Allowance

For infants (aged below 2 years), an accompanying adult is allowed an additional 3 kg (7 lbs) of cabin baggage allowance. This allowance can include items necessary for the infant’s comfort during the flight, such as diapers and baby food.

Cabin Baggage Dimensions Fiji Airways

To ensure that your cabin baggage complies with Fiji Airways’ size restrictions, it’s important to be familiar with the allowed dimensions. Let’s break down the dimensions for both economy and business class:

Economy Class

The total dimensions of the cabin bags in economy class should not exceed 118cm (46in). Additionally, the maximum dimensions of each bag, including handles and wheels, should be 55cm X 40cm X 23cm.

Business Class

In business class, the total dimensions of the cabin bags should not exceed 126cm (50in). The maximum dimensions of each bag, including handles and wheels, should be 56cm X 45cm X 25cm.

It’s important to note that if your cabin bag does not comply with the weight and size policy, you may be asked to check it in at the counter and will be charged for any excess baggage.

Additional Items Allowed in the Cabin

In addition to the cabin baggage allowance, Fiji Airways allows passengers to carry certain items on board, free of charge, subject to space availability. These items include:

  • One small personal item, such as a laptop bag or purse
  • A pocket book or purse that is suitable for normal travel dress and not being used as a container for other items
  • An overcoat, wrap, or blanket
  • An umbrella or walking stick (subject to security approval)
  • A small camera and/or a pair of binoculars
  • A reasonable amount of reading material for the flight
  • For passengers traveling with children below the age of two, an additional 3 kg (7 lbs) of cabin baggage allowance is provided, which may include items for use in the cabin, such as diapers and baby food
  • A collapsible stroller is allowed, provided it does not exceed the total linear dimensions of 148cm (Length 100cm + Width 25cm + Depth 23cm). The stroller must be carried by the accompanying adult and must be stowed during the flight

It’s worth noting that certain items, such as crutches, wedding dresses, and duty-free bags, are also permitted in the cabin. However, it’s always a good idea to check with Fiji Airways for any specific restrictions or requirements.

Non-Compliant Cabin Baggage

Fiji Airways strives to accommodate all cabin baggage safely on board. However, in cases where there is limited space or if the cabin bag does not comply with the size and weight limits, it may need to be checked in. In such instances, non-compliant fees will be applied at the boarding gate.

To ensure a smooth check-in experience, it’s important to make sure that your cabin bag fits within the allowed size and weight limits. All compliant cabin baggage must be properly tagged before leaving the check-in counter.

Checked Baggage Allowance

In addition to cabin baggage, Fiji Airways also provides checked baggage allowances for its passengers. The allowance varies depending on the class of travel and the destination. Let’s take a closer look at the different categories:
